We started OCA because we deeply believe the planet needs more environmental conservation. The urgency to fight climate change and protect biodiversity is greater than ever, and the window of time is short. While there are great organizations doing great work, the world needs more. A lot more.
At the Ontario Conservation Accelerator, our mission is to accelerate environmental conservation across Ontario.
UNLOCKING POTENTIAL
As an Ontario focused conservation change-maker we’re committed to using every tool available, creating new ones when needed, and leading or supporting projects that foster connections to nature in communities in Ontario. Our goal is simple: protect lands, build new partnerships, and ensure conservation initiatives don’t just start—they get done.
This enables us to spend time connecting with existing groups, forging new partnerships, and supporting a wide range of conservation efforts—from traditional land conservation to urban parks and OECMs, or something nobody in Canada has done yet.
Against a backdrop of climate change and biodiversity loss, there is a new urgency and momentum for conservation action.
We’re passionate about conservation and embrace new challenges and innovation to continually raise the bar—all while having fun.
Made up of staff with decades of experience in conservation, our team has a wide range of skills—from fundraising and government relations to stewardship, mapping, land negotiations, and policy development. If you have an impactful conservation vision, reach out to us. Let’s talk.
