Accelerating conservation means working with fantastic partners, protecting land directly ourselves and always looking for new projects—from urban parks to expanded parks or puzzle pieces in a larger vision. Below are just a few of the amazing projects OCA is currently working on.
Scouts Canada
- OCA Led
OCA is excited about the opportunity to partner with Scouts Canada and act as their conservation agent for an exciting multi-year initiative that could include the potential conservation of thousands of acres of natural lands in Ontario, while ensuring ongoing use by Scouts youth and volunteers.
Scouts Canada is one of the country’s leading co-ed youth organizations with a mission to develop well-rounded youth, better prepared for success in the world. With programming rooted in adventure, leadership, and community, Scouts Canada provides transformative learning experiences for youth through outdoor experiential education, and service.
Crowe River
- OCA Led
Tucked between Mud Turtle Lake and Whetstone Lake in Hastings County lies something special: 566 acres of forest, wetlands, and winding riverfront that have stayed wild, untouched, and roadless.
This is the Crowe River property, a spectacular stretch of land full of life, from Monarch butterflies and Wood Thrush to the charismatic Blanding’s Turtle. It’s part of a growing network of protected areas and helps build the spine of a key north-south conservation corridor in Hastings County..
The exciting part? We’re not done yet, which means you can be part of protecting this unique property for the long term.
